Sony A6400 Short Review:
Sony announced the a6400 at the beginning of 2019. The Apsc sensor is packed with capabilities that can be positioned between the Sony A6300 vs A6500. Especially assertive about video, Sony county A6400 offers full mirrorless ergonomics with its dimensions. It is also more ambitious than many middle segment machines with its photographic features.
As it is examined in the table above, it is more than 6300 in terms of features but less than A6500. Let’s look at these key differences.
The main differences between Sony A6400 vs A6500 vs A6300
1. Difference: Rotatable Screen
As the first difference for the A6400, we can count its peers, which can be opened 180 degrees vertically. because the other two models did not rotate 180 degrees even though the screens were moving. With this feature, I think the individual video will be in a very ambitious position. With the support of slog and gamut, Youtuber or V bloggers will be the choice of those who want quality video.
Difference 2: ISO
While the other two models support the range of 100-25600 and can be increased up to 51200 with increased ISO sensitivity, the Sony A6400 can be increased in the range of 100-32000 and up to 102400 ISO.
3. Difference: Touch Screen:
While the Sony a6300 model does not have a touch screen, the touch screen is standardized on the Sony a6400 and Sony a6500.
Difference 4: Internal Image Stabilization (IBIS)
Unlike the other two models, the Sony A6500 has an image stabilization feature on the body. Although the a6400 is the latest model, the absence of the ibis system stands out as the biggest deficiency right now.
5. Difference: Auto Eye Focus
All 3 models of Sony have automatic eye tracking and focus. However, the Sony a6300 and Sony a6500 also stand out as a separate function, while this feature works directly when you make a half shutter release on the Sony a6400.
6. Difference: Dual SD Card Support
Unfortunately, the Sony a6400 does not support dual cards. Dual SD card support is only available on the Sony a6500 model.
7. Difference: Interface-Menu
A6500 and a6400 models have renewed interface support. Just like the last full frame mirrorless. But the a6300 also has the classic Sony menu.
8. Difference: Battery Capacity
With the Sony a6300, the a6400 can take approximately 400 photos, while the a6500 can take 350 photos. Although they use the same battery models, we understand that the lack of number in the a6500 is caused by the stabilizer on the body.
9. Difference: Weight
The Sony a6500 model is 453g, while the other two models weigh about 50g less. This difference arises from ibis.
10. Difference: Physical Structure
Although these three models are very similar physically, there are some minor differences between them. The Sony a6500 also features 1 assignable drop at the top. In addition, the handle is thinner and longer than the other two models. It has a structure that fits more comfortably in the hand. Likewise, the knurled texture of the mod and exposure wheels is different.
11. Difference: Price
Based on only bodies, the prices of the Sony a6300, Sony a6400 and Sony a6500 are around $ 750- $ 900 and $ 1200 respectively. (2019) Of course, we can expect these prices to decrease over time.
